Anthony Scanlon
Antony Scanlon in November 2010 was appointed as the Executive Director of the International Golf Federation (IGF), and established its headquarters at Maison du Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.
At the IGF, Scanlon is responsible for the promotion of golf as an Olympic Sport, the international development of golf and the representation of golf within the Olympic Movement. He also ensured the successful delivery and organisation of the golf competitions when it returned at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and also in Tokyo in 2023.
Prior to this, at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) he was the Head of Olympic Games Coordination, Services and Operations since January 2004. In this role, he was responsible for the coordination of all aspects of both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Scanlon was charged with monitoring each Organising Committees’ (OCOG) deliverables and globally supporting the OCOGs throughout each stage prior to the delivery of the Olympic Games. He was also directly accountable for the seamless operations of more than 20 functional areas which are key elements to the successful delivery of Games Services and Games Operations within an OCOG.
Prior to this Scanlon held a senior position with the Sydney 2000 Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.
