IF Forum 2024 welcomes future sports leaders

SportAccord is excited to welcome two exciting groups of future sports leaders to IF Forum 2024 – the annual in-person, invitation-only event ‘for the IFs, by the IFs’ on 21-23 October at Lausanne’s Olympic Museum.

This year’s much-awaited event, under the theme ‘Ensuring your IF is match fit and future-ready’, will address the most pressing topics from Artificial Intelligence (AI), esports and complex stakeholder demands to athlete health and worrying trends of physical inactivity.

The sessions are designed to equip managers and decision-makers from International Sport Federations (IFs) with the necessary skills to navigate the evolving complexities of the sports industry, and keep their organisations at the forefront of innovation.

The Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) Women Lead Sports programme and Academy of Sport Science and Technology (AISTS) award-winning Master programme will send a substantial delegation of over 40 representatives  to this year’s IF Forum – to be at the centre of International Federations and key decision-makers in sport.

Remaining fit for purpose in a fast-changing environment

SportAccord Managing Director Martin Gibbs explained: “In our fast-changing environment, it makes perfect sense to also include the next generation of sports leaders in our discussions.

“We look forward to welcoming the participants of ASOIF’s Women Lead Sports programme as well as AISTS master students to this year’s IF Forum.

“They will be able to exchange with over 300 attendees from International Sport Federations, high profile guest speakers and exclusive IF Forum partners.”

ASOIF’s Women Lead Sports

The ASOIF Women Lead Sports workshop on 20-21 October in Lausanne provides specific training to over 20 potential female leaders who aim to serve in elective positions of their respective International Federation, Continental Association or National Federation. The long-term aim is to increase the number of women in leadership positions across the Olympic Movement. After the workshop, the participants will join in the opening of the IF Forum to network, discuss trending topics and meet key decision-makers from the Olympic Movement.

AISTS – deep dive into transformative impact of AI and new technologies

At this year’s IF Forum, SportAccord is also working with AISTS thanks to its continuing education programme on Artificial Intelligence in Sport, providing targeted, high-impact learning experiences designed to address specific needs within the sports industry, combining academic insights, practical applications and real-world case studies.

AISTS master students will join the IF Forum’s AI-specific sessions on Wednesday where leading experts will tackle opportunities and challenges related to AI in sport. Several IFs will also share case studies on how AI and new technologies are transforming their operations and enhancing their respective sports.
