CSIT – World Sports Games
The CSIT stands as a prominent global multisport confederation dedicated to amateurs and workers in the realm of sports, epitomizing the principles of “Sport for All / Grassroots Sports.” Acknowledged by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 1986 and a key player within the Sport Accord network since 1973, CSIT has been fostering the spirit of sportsmanship since its establishment in 1913 in Belgium.
With a vast network that encompasses over 80 national member unions from 60+ countries, along with one continental member and approximately 200 million individual memberships, CSIT stands at the forefront of promoting “Sports for All” worldwide.
The major amateur multisport event, known as the “CSIT World Sports Games“, is held every 2 years and serves as the flagship event of CSIT, drawing up to 8000 participants. This spectacular sporting event, catered to amateurs and workers of all ages, backgrounds, and competitive inclinations, features a diverse set of 20-25 sports. Beyond the thrill of competition, the Games unfold as a celebration of friendship, cultural exchange, tolerance, respect, sustainability, and fair play.
Inspired by the ideals of the “International Workers’ Olympiads” from the 1920s and 30s, each edition of the CSIT World Sports Games welcomes not only CSIT members but also non-member organizations, partners, governmental bodies, trade unions, and companies engaged in sports activities globally.
CSIT extends its influence as the host of the “International Amateur Sports Forum – Sports Impacts All,” providing a pivotal platform for international projects, many of which are EU-funded. The confederation actively contributes to grassroots sports and inclusion, addresses issues related to refugees, sustainability, supports volunteers and young leaders’ education
