Berlin is Germany’s political capital and one of the world’s leading sports metropolises. Thanks to its high-quality sporting venues, such as the Olympiastadion Berlin or the Max-Schmeling-Halle and the Velodrom, Berlin hosts sports highlights of international importance again and again. In the last few years for example the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 as well as the Special Olympics Summer Games 2023. In the next few years, Berlin will again be the site of high-caliber events, e.g. the UEFA EURO 2024 and the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026. 2024 will be a special year, because the BERLIN-MARATHON is taking place for the 50th time.
