Roger Mitchell

Podcaster, founding CEO of the Scottish Professional Football League, and author of ‘Sport’s Perfect Storm’

Roger Mitchell is a Chartered Accountant from Glasgow who has worked in all areas of the finance profession, both public and private: as an auditor, CFO, corporate financier and venture capitalist.

Passionate about macroeconomics and geopolitics, and with a strong background in the creative industries of publishing, advertising, music, entertainment and sport, Roger has direct experience of the era-defining companies of Sir Martin Sorrell, Robert Maxwell, Lord Alan Sugar, Rupert Murdoch and Richard Branson.

In the end of the 90s, he made his personal passion for sport a profession, becoming CEO Commissioner of a major rights holder, in British football, at its moment of explosion. He has sat at senior level in the major governing bodies like UEFA. He is an insider.

He lives by Lake Como, in Italy, from where he and his wife run the Albachiara boutique consulting firm, with a particular focus on investing in, and advising, early stage founders in sport and entertainment. He has two children, from whom he has observed the changing habits in the worlds of content.
