Melissa Lawton

Melissa Lawton is the Chief Content Officer at SailGP, responsible for all owned content from the in-house Live Broadcast to Long Form unscripted series to social content. Melissa arrived at SailGP in 2022 after 4 years Meta in New York where she was the Head of Live Sports Production and 5 years as Head of Live Event Content at Red Bull in Salzburg, Austria. A Global citizen, Melissa has also lived and worked in Beijing, New Delhi and Sydney, in Producer and Programming roles at two Olympics Games, one World Cup and a Commonwealth Games. A journalist by trade, she first cut her teeth in the sports tv business with her time as a Producer at Network Ten Australia which was then the Home of Motorsport. Melissa currently lives in London with her husband, her two sassy teenage daughters and their very sweet dog, Lulu.

Melissa is a founding member of Chief, A board advisor to Women’s National Football Conference (USA) and on the Board of Directors at British Basketball.
