Annamarie Phelps CBE, Olympian

Vice Chair of the British Olympic Association and Member of the European Olympic Committee Executive Committee

A former World Champion and world record holder in rowing, Annamarie represented Great Britain at Atlanta Olympic Games 1996. She has since held high-profile leadership roles across sporting organisations in Olympic, Paralympic, and professional sports at world, continental and national levels.  

 She currently co-chairs the Global Executive of the International Working Group on Women & Sport, the largest global network for the advancement of gender equality in sport, hosted in the UK 2022-2026. 

 Following senior roles at the British Horseracing Authority, British Paralympic Association and British Rowing [the latter as Deputy Chair, Safeguarding Lead and latterly Chairman], Annamarie was elected Vice Chair, at the British Olympic Association, President of European Rowing, and a member of the Executive Committee of European Olympic Committees.  

 She also chairs the EOC Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion Commission and serves on the IPC Legal and Ethics Committee, the IOC and ANOC GEDI Commissions, World Rowing’s Governance Working Group and Safeguarding Advisory Group and the Council of Europe Consultative Committee for Sport.
